When my husband would ask if there was anything for him to do, I'd always brush it off. "No, I'm fine, I've got it." Then, of course, I'd think of at least 30 or 40 things he could help me with, from remembering to make a doctor's appointment to giving the girls a bath, but by then it seemed like the moment was lost. It never occurred to me to follow up and say, "You know what? There ARE some things you can do!"
