Hip jewels; cool prices. That’s what you’ll find at thebestnecklace.com. I launched the online jewelry store in August 2009 after a year of market research and website development. We’re kind of a Hybrid  jewelry store. We feature fun, inexpensive costume pieces as well as genuine stone necklaces at prices that are very, very reasonable. The pieces are always in style, but they’re also classic and can be worn ten years from now. That’s our goal when we’re selecting jewelry to feature. I love the look of jewelry from J.Crew and Banana Republic, but I don’t want to spend a lot. I want something that s good quality, though, and more upscale than an item from Claire’s Boutique. So, I definitely see a hole that, hopefully, thebestnecklace.com can fill. What’s unique about thebestnecklace.com? Besides featuring genuine and costume pieces at affordable prices, the site also offers a  Necklace of the Month  club. How would you define yourself as a hybrid mom?:

I'm a business owner, mother, wife, and friend to many! It's a struggle trying to make it all work, but that's what life is about anyway-the ride, not the destination. I want to be the best mother that I can be, and I know that part of that is being able to provide for and leave a legacy for my daughter, which is what I am trying to accomplish with my business! (I may have included this next part in another answer-I can't remember-so sorry!) So, I concentrate on my daughter and family during the day and work late into the night on the business aspect.  But, that's not everyday because I know we all have to be realistic and have a life, too! 

Share one personal or business ambition:

My ultimate business goal is to have one of the largest online jewelry stores on the web, and of course, to be featured on "Oprah," ha, ha!

What is your favorite thing about being a mom?:

My favorite thing about being a Hybrid Mom is that I can be a mother but still have engaging, meaningful work as a part of my day and feel like I am making a difference in the life of my daughter and others who buy my jewelry and love it!

What one belief, factor or trait would you say has contributed most to your success (either personally or professionally)?:

Perseverance-most definitely. My father was an entrepreneur, and I watched him for 25 years grow and run a successful business. He never gave up when times were hard, and that's something that has always been a part of my personality.
