Balancing Act with Max... ok I am getting it. I mean, I am not being arrogant, the trials will continue on with a variety of challenges, but I finally feel like the anxiety has died down. I have to let you in on a secret however. I have been dating a man, B.G. Well we started to get to know each other over the summer, and with great caution, I didn’t let him meet Max for awhile. The friendship has evolved and I am exclusively seeing him. He is a good man.

The anxiety came when I had B.G. over to dinner to meet Max. My son is curious, at times very nosey, and he didn’t fail when B.G. had a seat at the dinner table. Max looked on, hesitant to give a smile or giggle, and tested B.G. by tossing some of his dinner at him. B.G.’s reaction was calm and it was then Max warmed up to him. It didn’t take very long.

It’s scary though. It feels promising, and although negative past relationships attempt to jade me, I maintain a positive light. It scares me though because Max is involved, and although he is a stubborn 1-year-old, he is very sensitive and intuitive. I don’t want him to get attached and then have this man drift out of his life. I guess it is life though, and Max will learn that people come in and out, and he will recover if it happens. Wait, this sounds like I am talking about myself. I think that I am.

Max likes B.G., and I think that he is a good influence for Max. Time will only tell, and who knows, B.G. may be here to stay.
