Allow me to preface this article by stating that the “ethereal balance” doesn’t exist for the WAHM.  It’s all myth and many therapists, life coaches, shrinks and professional organizers are laughing all the way to the bank as they (unwittingly) exploit our frustrated gang.

This week is my first taste of how (I am afraid) my kids’ summer vacation is going to play out. Lots of whining about being bored, lots of eating me out of house and home, and a lot of money being shelled out for summer camp.

Rachel Ray's 30 Minute meal show on the Food Network is focused on multitasking so that you can make a home cooked meal in 30 minutes or less.  One of her favorite tips is going to get ingredients in a large bowl and getting them all at the same time so you aren't going back and forth to the pantry and refrigerator. 

Whether you're in search of an open floor plan to keep an eye on the kids while you plug away, carving a nook out of the guest room, or have a dedicated home office and want to make the most of it, here are varying design schemes that work for every situation.

Here are the facts: 10.1 million firms in the United States are owned by women, and 13.8 million are based out of someone’s home. Those who find themselves in both categories are part of a growing breed of “mompreneurs” who enjoy the flexibility of being their own boss.

I’ve been demoted. This past weekend, I was kicked out of my home office and exiled to the dining room. My performance has been above bar; I’ve shown true dedication and commitment to the team.

I am struggling a bit with how to define myself these days. I am a working mom who doesn't go to work. I have no stories of endless meetings and office politics (although I do have vivid memories of them!) I have no commute. I have no co-workers.

I'm grown up. I'm married, I've got kids, a mortgage, and bills. I don't have the white picket fence or the Golden Retriever that I always imagined I would have when I 'grew up', but I've got lines around my eyes and I'm certain grey hairs are about to find their way through my thick curls. My point is that I'm an adult.

Once again, I have found myself teetering on the cutting edge with absolutely no idea how I got there. At some point, while I was chugging coffee, staring bleary-eyed at the computer, and praying that my little angel's naptime would last just ten heavenly minutes longer, working at home became the next big thing. In short, "momprenuers" are totally hot!
