Once a month, we leave our kids, husbands and worries behind. We fall off of our diets while eating snacks, appetizers, dinner and a lot of desserts. We drink our favorite wine, beer or drink of the night. But the best part of our girls nights is the conversation.
The end of summer marks the beginning of that mad to stock up on supplies that will make your students’ school year a success. You want to send them off to the bus that first day with everything they need to get to the head of the class. Did you ever stop to think that your own business could use that kind of prep?
My husband recently started working out of town three days a week. That means he’s gone from Tuesday morning until Thursday night. For most families, having husbands who travel is not so unusual, but up until now my husband has been an adjunct professor at a local university which means he’s been around a lot, sharing almost equally in child-care duties. Now he’s got a tenure-track position at a university in the Philadelphia area and so he’s gone three days a week, 2 hours away from our home in New York City.
