The set also contains a gag real, deleted scenes and audio commentaries by Director Alan Poul and Series Creator Mike Kelley.

I’d give you my personal review of Swingtown The First Season, but I ran into a bit of a snag- the deadline for posting the information about the DVD came and went, and well, I lost the DVD. I know it’s in the house somewhere! But I’ve looked in all the usual places where I might put a DVD, like the entertainment center, the shelves where we actually put our DVDs, and the bookshelf, and I can’t find it anywhere. This past Sunday we visited Chris’ sister and her family at their house which is about a two hour drive away. It was our first time visiting them at their new and gorgeous house.  We had snacks, gave presents to the kids, went to dinner, it was a nice visit!

The kids were thrilled with their gifts- Ryan got the ROFLcopter t-shirt from ThinkGeek and a Nuttin’ But Stringz CD, Nathan got the Star Wars game for his Leapfrog Didj, and Kaitlyn got a cute MegaBlocks piano and a “Come to the Dark Side, We Have Cookies” shirt from ThinkGeek.  My SIL also made us a wonderful gift basket with homemade Organic Whole Wheat Banana Nut Bread, two mugs, a jar of her homemade hot cocoa mix, and two framed photos of her and Chris dancing at her wedding. I forgot to take a picture of it!  I did take photos of everyone while we were there though:

Kaitlyn asked me several times today if we could please go back, I told her that her Aunt would love it if the next time we went, Kaitlyn was potty trained. So at the dinner table, Kaitlyn announced that we were going to see Auntie (SIL’s  name), but that she had to be potty trained first. Hey, whatever works!

I flipped by Sesame Street the other day, and Elmo was listening to these girls in a park doing the “Down Down Baby” hand clapping game, and ever since, I’ve had it stuck in my head. On January 6th, CBS Home Entertainment and Paramount Home Entertainment will be releasing The Tudors - Season 2 on DVD.  It stars Jonathan Rhys Meyers (”August Rush”, “Mission Impossible 3″) as Henry VIII, English actress Natalie Dormer as Anne Boleyn, Jeremy Northam (”The Invasion”) as Sir Thomas More, Sam Neill (”Irresistable”) as Cardinal Thomas Wolsey, and Callum Blue (”Dead Like Me”) as Anthony Knivert.  Historians might find this show frustrating, because it does take liberties with actual historical events.  It might not be historically accurate all the time, but it is dang sexy, that’s for sure.  If there’s one thing Henry VIII did like, it’s having s-e-x.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers was nominated for a Golden Globe award for his portrayal of Henry VIII,  whose promiscuous ways change the course of history as he moves to divorce Queen Katherine (Maria Doyle Kennedy) and marry Anne Boleyn , prompting Pope Paul III (eight-time Academy Award® nominee Peter O’Toole) to have him excommunicated. Anne’s failure to provide Henry with a male heir sets the wheels in motion for her eventual beheading and sends the King into the arms of Jane Seymour (Anita Briem).

Showtime also created www.whothetudorareyou.com, a mini-site that lets you discover exactly where you would have existed in Tudor society according to your present day social status. Simply select some basic details about your life as it is now (sex, age, job, salary, etc.) and find out if you would have been a serf, a peasant, a noble, or even the king! You’ll get a mini-clip from the series and get some details into what your life would have been like. I took the quiz and it told me I would have been a Lady-In-Waiting. hmm. Take the quiz and tell me in a comment what kind of Tudor you would have been!
