All this caffeine consumption has given rise to growing numbers of "caffeinated moms." A study by an independent nonprofit research group, The National Sleep Foundation, found that more than 65 percent of moms drink caffeinated beverages to get through their day. [CNN.com] Although the large doses of caffeine may have deleterious effects on mothers such as migraines, heartburn, and an increased risk of miscarriage, a study released in August 2007 and published in the journal Neurology found three cups of coffee every day helps women over the age 65 stay sharp.
