Q. What has been your proudest business moment thus far? A. It's hard to nail down one specific moment - but I think my proudest moment was seeing my "maybe I'll make a little extra money Hobby" grow into a business that now employs my parents, my good friend, and my sister in law Q. What is the best thing about working with your family? What is the worst thing? A. The best thing is that they know me, and I them. I know everyone's strengths and weaknesses so it makes it easier to delegate different parts of the business to who I know will handle them the best. Furthermore, they all support me and my vision and are there to support me when I'm feeling overwhelmed. It's nice to be able to fully trust everyone I work with. The worst part is that it's hard to draw the line between family and business - when you work at home, you are ALWAYS at work...Sunday dinners with the family are talking about how we are doing, what can we do to improve...And then there's drawing the line between being a daughter, a friend and a boss/superior. Q. What are you wishing for this holiday season? A. More Sleep! :) No really - I'm wishing for a safe, stress free, and wonderful holiday - I'd like the children to start understanding the true meaning of Christmas. Now that my boys will be 3 and 4 (They both celebrate their birthdays in December) they are really understanding and anticipating with excitement the holidays. Seeing their faces light up warms my heart. Q. What profound lesson have you learned from motherhood? A. To expect the unexpected. Each child is unique and has a special quality and while some days I want to tear my hair out with the Chaos of having 3 children, a business, a husband, a home to run, little moments such as watching my sons play together - with infectious giggling, or simply having "girl talk" with my oldest daughter are moments I cherish, because they make all of the hard times seem insignificant. I see the world as new again through each new experience with my children. Q. What is the best advice you could give to a fellow mompreneur? A. Find your balance. You can be pulled in so many directions all at once it's easy to lose sight of what is most important when it's right in front of you. Always make time for yourself, your children, your husband or significant other...Your family will always be there for you, no matter what. Q. What is your best holiday memory? A. It's an odd one, but my best holiday memory is seeing my daughter's personality shine when she was 18 months old - Christmas morning 1999 - It was her first real Christmas and all dressed up in her holiday dress, eating cheerios in her high chair. She understood and was mesmerized with the lights and the presents under the tree...after eyeing a toddler ride on car for months at the local toy store she was less than impressed finding it waiting for her Christmas morning - rather, spending the majority of the day camping out in the box it came in...The simplicity… Thank you Jessica!
