With little more than a flick of my wrist, we were Omni bound, and I
had to call Jen to share the latest developments. And see if I was
breaking my non-disclosure agreement about Clamming. I needed to
figure out this mystery, but I needed a paycheck more. I’d only share
as much as I needed to with Nicole.
I considered hailing a cab and directing it to the Omni. What’s one meaningless ride further into the city for a dead end? A ploy to get my heart and mind racing about the possibility of meeting the only man in my life besides my son?
“This is a publicity nightmare!” Jen threw her brown messenger bag into the booth and sighed as she sat down. "And, the nightmare sent me a package that arrived this morning."
Jen was Clamming’s agent. After the second book hit the bestseller list he hired her. She was responsible for approving each new book idea, the outlines, jacket covers, marketing blurbs, getting the books on the shelves and read, and most importantly, to keep Clamming’s image under wraps.
"I've made the decision to ghostwrite full time."
