A day or so ago, my (just turned!) four year old daughter pranced out
of the playroom attired from head to toe in dress-up silks and lace.
She struck a pose and did a little pirouette. Then, with a flutter of
her ridiculously long eyelashes, she simpered and announced, "I'm
attractive to men."

them up. Our intention: to be together, to explore and to laugh our
heads off. If it wasn’t for a curfew, the night would never end.

He sat at the table slicing a banana with a plastic knife. I saw the
basket of grapes in front of him and assumed it was safe enough to
leave again. For a six-year-old, Henrik is quite the budding chef.
Seriously. His secret addition to our banana bread recipe made it
legendary. And he's managed to come up with sandwiches that actually
taste good to me and delight his little sister, Greta. So he's in
charge of lunch at least one day a week.

If you walk around a college campus today you’ll see that all the kids
are talking on their cell phones . . . to their moms. We have raised a
generation of kids who view their mom as their best friend and
confidante. But have we given them the tools they need to survive on
their own?

Sex isn't something new moms talk about at playgroup. Or even with
their partners. Especially during the first couple months of
bleary-eyed motherhood. But, eventually, you have The Talk.
